Yesterday,  Nov. 17, I helped Sarah and Kati with Fitness with Sarah. We met in Wesley, because we were shooting in the second floor lobby there. We had some problems to get a camera at first. So we had to track it down and then pick it up from Maggie at the Zeta house. But after that everything went smoothly and it was real fun working with Sarah and Kati.

Shoot with Jordan - 30 min

Yesterday, I helped Jordan with her player profile package of soccer player Luke Jenner. We met at Barnett Field where the soccer team had practice, interviewed Luke and then filmed him play from different angles. Jordan showed me how to film from perspectives that I didn't know of. We for example put the camera on the ground, so you could see their feet very well. Then we shot only their feet, since he is a soccer player. It was a helpful experience.

Volleyball Game - 2 1/2 hours

Today I went to the volleyball game on campus and helped Tony and Jonathan shoot. Jonathan filmed the first set and then I did the last two. It was a really good experience and I feel like I learned a lot. While I was filming one of the guys always watched me, corrected me and gave me tips. I feel like I getting better at zooming in and out, because in the beginning I could not film very fluently. I also learned how to pack up the camera and the equipment, which was good since I have never done it before. Jonathan shared some tips that even Tony did not know so we all learned a little bit today;) !

Sports Show - 1 1/2 hours

I went to the Sports Show today from 4.45 p.m. to 6.15 p.m. . John did the first part as usual before the guest came. We had to wait until Taylor Maldonado from the women's basketball team got out of practice to have her as a guest on the show. We had to start the interview part over twice, because she started laughing. All in all, it was a very entertaining show.

Volleyball Game - 1 1/2 hours

On Sunday, October 30, I went to the Volleyball game on campus to help Jordan shoot. It was only me and her so she could explain a lot to me and I could ask her questions. I was filming a lot and now feel more comfortable with the camera. It was my first time filming volleyball, so it was a very interesting experience. Especially towards the end, when the guest team kept scoring and FSC was not winning anymore, it was interesting to see how we had to change the angle of the story. As soon as we realized that FSC might not be winning we started filming the other team more.

General

I realize that my hours are not enough so far. Just please take in consideration that I had two weeks less than everyone else since I joined the class later. I did everything I could however and went to everything there was whenever I did not have class or work. If you check the facebook pages you can see that I offered my help very often. I will further try to work with the 2 shows. The sports show and the news show to catch up on hours by the end of the semester. I thought I would get in the 18 hrs by today, but some people did not get back to me about productions this week and then I could not go to the sports meeting cause it was at 4.30 this week and I had class. And then I had to find out there was no News meeting either this week. I am not trying to make excuses I am just trying to say that although I only have 10 hours I take this very seriously and put a lot of effort in it. It is just a little bit hard to find productions for me sometimes, cause I have 5 classes and work.

1 hour Wellness TV Shooting

On Thursday, October 6th, I helped Cynthia shoot tips to save electricity by the water dome. After we were done with that we kept shooting some b-roll. We for example filmed someone plugging out a lamp and clothing a fridge. I learned some more information about the camera from Cynthia so the experience was really helpful.

Last Wednesday I went to the men's soccer game and helped John with the Sports Show. I helped out with the camera. I learned how to film the game and filmed almost the whole first half. 1 hour - Sports Show

Last Thursday I went to the Sports meeting where we shot the first sports show. We had a guest from the women's soccer team. It took one hour and we had to shoot it twice. The first time John had a few blurters, but then he did very well. He looked professional and the interview went very smooth. The first time we shot it I was inside the studio, and the second time I decided to join Dakota in the other room to get some insights on all the technique.

30 min - Sports

I went to the Sports meeting yesterday. I am planning on going to a couple of different meetings to see which one I feel will fit me the best in the end.
So at the meeting John gave a little speech on what is going to come up over the whole week. There will be three soccer games, two on friday and one on sunday. I told him I will be attending the one on Sunday at noon. Also he told me some general information about the studio and its hours, among some other important information.

30 min - News

I went to the Southern New meeting for the first time on Wednedsday. It was very interseting for me to se how FSC Comm students do their meetings. Anna first went over some organizational things (f.ex. that we're meeting on friday instead of wednesday next week), then she told us that we will not have to write any stories for nest week, because of Convo. Anna then showed us, the newbies, some of the technical studio equipment and how it works. After everyone received a copy of the script for the news show, John and Lauren did a practice round.  While they were acting as anchors, Anna explained to us where the camera would be focused at every moment of their performance.
